题目： Nonlinear Wave Equations: Theory and Applications
摘要：
The development of a host of nonlinear, dispersive wave equations has been a major item in the mathematical firmament since about 1965. The lecture aims to sketch some small portion of this large development with especial aim toward some oceanographic applications. These will include large scale internal waves such as appear regularly in the South China Sea, rogue wave formation, beach protection and tsunami propagation as time permits.
个人简介：
Jerry Bona教授为美国数学会会员和美国工业数学会会员。1971年毕业于美国哈佛大学。在流体力学、偏微分方程、以及计算数学领域内有众多著名的工作，其中最著名的工作是提出了以其和Benjamin以及Mahony共同命名的Benjamin-Bona-Mahony（BBM)方程，也叫正则化的长波方程（Regularized long-wave equation(RLWE))。
